Welcome to! Over the coming week we’ll be streaming, featuring, and loading you up with so much eSports content you won’t need any other sources.

Australasia’s home of eSports is bringing competitive gaming to New Zealand, starting with the New Zealand Gaming Championships (NZGC) League of Legends Premiership 2016 in association with Logitech and Twitch.

Beginning September 3rd, eSports fans can follow their favourite players and teams throughout a six-week tournament. One of six teams will be crowned champion at our live Grand Final spectacular at MOTAT’s Idea Collective on Wednesday October 12th.

Defending Champions, Villains, will be taking on five new challengers – Decode, Tiger Eye, 2EZ Gaming, Team D.N.A., and King V – with the winning team heading on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to the League of Legends World Finals in Los Angeles. spokesperson Duane Mutu states, “Villains have set the benchmark for total professionalism in eSports with an outstanding tournament winning record and exceptional playing roster. It will be exciting to watch our next top gaming teams trying to take them down live on and SKY.”

Round-robin and playoff matches take place weekly online at and on Saturday and Sundaynights from 7pm starting September 3rd.

Starting Wednesday September 7th, coverage moves up a notch as the NZGC goes live in HD on Sky Sport 3 every week from 7pm.

Players will be flown into Auckland from around the country each week to wage battle on Rift inside the Hexedome, New Zealand’s first purpose-built eSports Arena.

Each will match will be a best of 3 (Bo3) series and will include live streams, expert analysts, and vivacious shoutcasting. Viewers are in for an action packed, educationally motivated battle in the fast-paced, high-energy Hexedome environment. will be paving the way for a ground breaking road that leads to the live NZGC Grand Final event on October 12th at The Idea Collective at MOTAT in Auckland. This is the chance for eSports fans to experience the magic in person with limited ticket sales available later this month.

“Delivering the first live broadcast of eSports with SKY in December was just the beginning of something massive,” explained Dan Wrightson, president of NZGC, “Esports is growing like wildfire and the NZGC Premiership will introduce new teams, players and champions to fans in 2016.”
