Based in New Zealand, LPL is an esports media company which operates on a global level.
Our goal is to build an eco-system that will underpin the continued growth of global esports. We strive to empower players, viewers and partners alike to find purpose in competitive video games. Our work takes the form of television broadcast, event production, IP ownership and talent management. Through unique partnerships, we create esports projects that deliver outstanding experiences to our audience – and measurable commercial results for our partners.
LPL delivers high visibility, world-class tournaments for brands and publishers. Publishers we have worked with include Activision, Bandai Namco, Blizzard Entertainment Inc, Riot, Sony and 2K. LPL’s purpose-built esports broadcasting studio is based inside Auckland's Sky Tower at SKYCITY. The Sky Tower is hard to miss, it’s the most iconic building in New Zealand and a key tourism destination.
Our studio delivers 4K and HD broadcasts and allows LPL to film live esports events held at SKYCITY Theatre (700pax) and the New Zealand International Convention Centre Theatre (3000pax), once opened. Dedicated soundproof PC, console and commentator booths host ANZ esports competitions and play host to streamers and influencers. The studio links to most major venues in Australia and New Zealand allowing LPL to coordinate and broadcast events throughout the Asia Pacific region.
In late 2018, LPL acquired Australian online esports tournament platform CyberGamer.com, founded by Jeremy "Asterix" Klaosen and James "[email protected]
!" Burroughs in 2007. Initially, the goal of CyberGamer was to create a home for the Call of Duty community in Australia by supplying leagues, ladders and forums. As members of the community had gaming interests outside of the Call of Duty series also, CyberGamer began supporting a variety of games. Post-acquisition LPL strives to build upon the strong foundation laid by CyberGamer, keeping on top of the gaming scene by continuing to add new support for exciting upcoming titles while maintaining quality support for long-running titles. We cater for both core and casual gamers by supporting multiple ladders and leagues. We strive to keep our interface fresh and intuitive and our back-end software unique and powerful.
