LPL Season Two 2020 League Play Information

Welcome to LPL’s second season of league play for 2020!

6th May 2020

Following a successful first season for 2020, we have a few changes in store for our core league titles which we will cover off below.

CS:GO

CS:GO remains one of the most popular titles available on our platform, as well as globally. This season we are pleased to reintroduce a Pro LAN event into our seasonal structure. This will be held in Auckland, NZ for the top three qualifying teams! (Global health situation dependant).

Production for this season’s CS:GO Pro broadcasts will be out of LPL Studios. This means you can expect to see quality Counter-Strike content from 6:30pm AEST sharp every Thursday on Twitch. Challenger and Pro level players are encouraged to please re-read through our terms and ruleset, and ensure they will be able to commit to the scheduling requirements for this level of play.

Our CS:GO Open, Amateur and Evolution league divisions remain largely unchanged.

DOTA2

LPL will continue to support the top tier of ANZ Dota2 play with our Pro division this season. We are also pleased to announce a Pro LAN event into our Dota2 seasonal structure. This will be held in Auckland, NZ for the top two qualifying teams! (Global health situation dependant).

Production for this season’s Dota2 Pro broadcasts will be out of LPL Studios. This means you can expect to see quality Dota2 content from 6:30pm AEST sharp every Monday and Tuesday on Twitch. Pro level players are encouraged to please re-read through our terms and ruleset, and ensure they will be able to commit to the scheduling requirements for this level of play.

Our Dota2 Open and Amateur league division remains unchanged.

R6 Pro PC

Following the successful introduction of the Pro division for Rainbow 6 Siege thanks to support from Ubisoft ANZ in season one, we are pleased to announce the Pro division will be continuing into its second season. The team is excited to continue working to build the R6 community on the LPL platform, and want to welcome Pezza as your new lead R6 administrator this season as we farewell Bloodhound.

Our R6 PC Amateur league division remains unchanged. As with previous seasons, players may join the free-to-play Open division elo ladder based tournament at any time throughout the season.

PUBG

This season of PUBG will operate differently from the past few LPL seasons. We have heard player feedback, and will be trialling a season format that is shorter, and hopefully offers teams more incentive to stay together and finish out the league. We will be splitting the season into two 4 week tournament ‘rounds’ – rather than our typical 8-10 week leagues – across all divisions; Open, Amateur, Evolution and Challenger.

This season we will also be introducing Team Entry Fees for PUBG, replacing the LPL Premium Subscription requirement of per previous seasons. Teams will be able to purchase their Team Entry Fees through their respective ladders. This Team Entry Fee covers the use of all potential substitutes (see PUBG rules for more information).

Please remember players can always submit feedback for the LPL team here, and we hope to see you in the LPL Community Discord server.
