SKYCITY Breakers vs. Vodafone Warriors
One of the unique and innovative ways that LPL has transformed the CoD landscape is by incorporating traditional sports into their environment; a similar pattern we’ve witnessed in League of Legends with teams like EPL’s Manchester United, the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, FC Schalke 04, and Valencia.

The Vodafone Warriors have played mentors over the course of six weeks, helping all six CoD teams that qualified with teamwork and developing a winning mindset. Now Ben Matulino, Jazz Tevaga, Ata Hingano, Albert Vete, Sam Lisone, and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will get a chance to pick up a controller and compete on the big stage.

Playing against the Vodafone Warriors will be the SKYCITY Breakers, including Alex Pledger, Derone Raukawa, Akil Mitchell, David Stockton and Shea Ili. This will most certainly be an entertaining match, so don’t forget to tune in!

Slicer vs. Beyond
Six New Zealand teams started their journey for glory just over six week ago, but only two teams now stand. Slicer and Beyond were the presumed favorites heading into this tournament, and they fittingly will battle it out to see who will claim the grand prize of $20,000.

The Grand Final match will be played on 5 maps with the usual consortium of expert analysis and knowledgeable shoutcasters.

The first matchup between these two teams was extremely close. On Throwback, playing Hardpoint, the final score was a mere 40 point separation. Slicer’s Reef “YKEminence” Galloway was an absolute beast, going over 40 kills, but his team couldn’t quite get the victory.

Beyond’s Rene “Zeuss_49” Corporaal has been an absolute terror on Search and Destroy maps. We saw our first ever SND go to a full 11 games when Beyond and Slicer last played, with Kainen “SwiftazOr” Kini giving Beyond the edge.

After struggling on Uplink, Slicer was much more comfortable playing Hardpoint on Frost. Guy “Guydra” Worthington and Ryan “killerpie” Wallath were huge for Slicer, but Nathan “baaaacabec” Munro was really coming into his own. Beyond would narrowly escape with a 250-234 win.

If you need any proof that Slicer can stick with Beyond, just look at SND on Throwback. After going down 2-5 against Beyond, Slicer battled back to win an improbable four games in a row.

Can Beyond take down Slicer one more time to win the Grand Finale or will it be Slicer finding some redemption? Let us know in the comments below!
