OMG, you really have to see it to believe it. I went to LAN earlier in the year and saw a couple people playing with 120Hz monitors. It's fucking beautiful. Gonna get myself one soon, maybe a chrissy present for myself, chyea.
what benefits does a 120hz have? i know obviously refresh rate. but how does that impact gaming?

Not to mention unless you're going to be a high ranked CGi player going to LAN events you don't need to waste money on a 120Hz monitor.
wow curley thats probably the stupidest thing i've ever seen you play..
I didn't say that. I just said that he'd benefit more from a monitor with better colour reproduction as he wouldn't NEED 120Hz as he won't be playing at a high level.
Because only cgi players enjoy smooth gameplay.

120Hz is double 60Hz which is the standard refresh rate.
At 120Hz you see double the amount of frames displayed, providing the source has 120 FPS or more.
This gives you a smoother picture and a lot of people prefer this for gaming.
Though for your average player it won't make much of a difference as the skill said player has won't be high.
Which is why I'm saying that an IPS panel would suit OP more as they have a better colour reproduction, so watching movies will be more enjoyable as blacks will be black, orange will be orange and so fourth.

No one NEEDS 120Hz Curley. It all depends on what you want the monitor for. Being on this website, and having his default game set to Call of Duty, I would assume he wants his monitor for gaming, hence why a 120Hz monitor was recommended. It doesn't matter what skill level you are, if you want smoother game play, then that's what you should buy. If he wants it for movies, then he would probably be better off with a different monitor (although he didn't specify he wanted it to watch movies on).
