ESL Counter-Strike: Global Offensive AU & NZ Championship Finals
It took the entire weekend to finally get our last two teams, but at last it was Australia’s Athletico versus their fellow countrymen, Team Chief.

The ESL CS:GO AU/NZ Finals was a best of five series, with game being an absolute stellar of an opener. Athletico went on an unimaginable eight round win streak to come back and win game one.

The Chiefs were able to come back on the second map, taking game two and tying the series at 1-1. Athletico took map three (de_nuke, one of their pocket maps), taking a 2-1 series lead.

Another great performance on de_train be Athletico gave them the 3-1 series win and the title of Season 2 ESL CS:GO AU/NZ Champions!

Thanks to their performance this past weekend at PAX Australia, both Athletico and Chiefs have earned two of the four available spots for Oceania to participate in the upcoming ZEN eSports League set to launch later this year. You can find out more information on this major announcement here.
