Boomser Rant - ESL Australia Bias Casting

'Unable to put the context of an ESL channel event over a CGP stream or a local Australian scene' - PeetyG - via video

There is no difference between them. In size yes. In the way, a person should act on stream no. If you would roast them on CGP streams you should do it everywhere. If only to give yourself credibility as an analyst.

'It's hard to be a role model 10mins before a game then throw them on the grill. I'll do better in the future I always do.' - PeetyG via Twitter

If you are trying to be a role model for the team, you should treat them like everyone else. They are just another team when you are casting. Eliminate your feelings and don't allow your emotions to cloud your judgment.

'publicly binning and excoriating one of the four top teams when we are trying to put on display the amount of talent we have in Australia.'

You don't need to bin a team to show how they need to improve. they could do X better, possibly they need to try a different approach etc. Or even you can't think of something, that's all cool - the defence or attack of a specific team is just too strong, they are on form etc.

'It was bias to Australian counter strike' - PeetyG

Or just bias to your team. What benefits did we get from you not criticising them? The world can see through that which makes it a problem. While everyone has their own bias you should be able to criticise anyone without caring about your relationship with them.

My big question is this then - are you capable of being objective? Honestly, I'm positive you can and while I found it to be somewhat annoying from time to time. I liked the PeetyG who didn't give a shit what others thought. Don't sugar coat anything, your responsibility in casting is to present the game in a fun and insightful way. You are a Caster and an analyst of the scene. Your job isn't to protect it. It is to push it forward.

'What benefit do you get?' - PeetyG via video

Legitimacy. You show to the world you are capable of giving criticism and singing praises of either team, the show excels because that provides talking points, that generates conversation worldwide and from that the scene can grow and learn. What if, the criticism you give X team in a game applied to other teams in Australia? Now, multiple teams have learned from simply giving criticism. I'm sure those teams exist. Part of the reason I enjoy watching CS with commentators, and generally speaking, mute myself in Teamspeaks etc when watching. Is because I want to hear what they say. Their views could impact my approach.

Considering the proximity to the beginning of the season if teams need a sub to fill out their roster I'm happy to do so.
