Hi, So quick run down had HDD fail but had a windows vista back up. ended up putting windows 7 on the new HDD and in an alternative thread received help on how to load the vista back up onto the windows 7. My problem is now my backup HDD is not appearing in my windows 7 my computer? but shows up in the MB Bios? Can someone please advise me on a resolve for this issue please? did some google searching seems like kinda common but couldn't get a convincing result to proceed with! my calling goes out to you tech savvy brothers!

If you have a spare SATA power and SATA data cable you can plug it in directly to the motherboard like your other HDD would be and just copy and paste it across

Hi, thanks for the reply Matt, yes i have spare hardware and can do this but im unsure what you mean? if i copy and paste the windows backup folder from the spare hdd where do i paste it in my new hdd with windows 7? ( for eg, if i paste the backup folder to the windows 7 desktop can it actually run the vista restore and put my browser favorites, my programs, pic's etc into the windows 7? if so how do i do this? simply by doing a restore from windows 7? im unsure of what i can and cannot do in software so if you could elaborate on the process that would be awesome mate!
