Cheap and effective.

That or Ethernet through power.

I'm guessing the mobo must support pci-e to run that?

Quote from McDeeze on the 9th of May 2018
Yes. But legit 99% of mobos these days have PCI-e slots?
don't know what kind of pc u are building, but https://www.mwave.com.au/product/netgear-wna3100m-n300-wifi-usb-mini-adapter-ab55151 this is a good option if it doesn't have PCI-e

Quote from Hrnsack on the 9th of May 2018
Yeah i've chosen the Gigabyte H270M-D3H and it has PCI-e. Just wanted to make sure. Also didn't necessarily want something cheap like tp-link as there is a significant difference in better quality products as i've had a TP-Link router and Nighthawk. PCI-e would be good to free up the additional USB slot.

Yea that's cool. If your mate/you have the budget I definitely recommend https://www.mwave.com.au/product/tplink-archer-t9e-ac1900-wireless-dual-band-pci-express-adapter-ab60449 as it picks up both 2.4/5GHz wireless channels. Also uses PCI-e.

That's cheap enough, budget was $150. Do you know much about CPU/Mobo chipsets? I'm just trying to make sure i'm choosing the best CPU and matching it with the right Mobo.

Quote from McDeeze on the 9th of May 2018
That mobo uses the 1151 socket. i recommend the 8700k: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/intel-core-i7-8700k-hex-core-lga-11512-370-ghz-unlocked-cpu-processor-ac08625 as it is a new chip, and overclockable. The chip will also last a lifetime, and is perfect for productivity and just as good for gaming.

Working on a budget and limited the build to an i5, couldn't decide between the i5-7600 or the i5-8600.

Quote from McDeeze on the 8th of May 2018
turns out that mobo cant be overclocked anyways, 8600 is probs better as its a newer series and will probs last longer. just depends on what your willing to spend I guess...

Quote from hK- on the 8th of May 2018
The i5-8600 is same price as i5-7600 but the 7600 has a better base clock speed where the 8600 has a better max speed as well as the additional cores and larger cache. The i5-7600 I have paired with a Gigabyte H270M-D3H but I don't know what board to use with the 8600.
