Pipeline in 5's rotation MWR

I assume people that are against pipeline in the rotation have only experienced it on AW, or have no SnD experience on cod4.

Quote from Jiszmik on the 10th of December 2016
Several of the players against it in this thread are players who were around for COD4, or at least the flashback competitions anyway.

We had a good rotation of maps, theres the core 5 (Crash, Strike, Overgrown, Crossfire, Backlot), as well as the lesser picked maps (Vacant, District) available as well.

Placing it on the ladder will lead to teams once again using it to pigeonhole others into choosing a map of preference (ie, offering Strike, District and Pipeline).

As someone who has had SND experience from COD4, leave it for PUGs, but don't put it anywhere near ladders or leagues.

PS Premium Changes

We want a premium subscription that allows us to choose what game our money is injected into. For example if we pay for a cod4 membership we have access to tournaments, events and leagues cod4 based. If we want an IW only membership we purchase that. If we want all we purchase the lot. You have literally combined the entire cod community into one which is not fair. The 5s community is a stack load ahead of the 4s community and we shouldn't have our prize pool sliced in half to support a title we dont play. The community was divided it worked. The community is now combined we disagree.

Quote from Jiszmik on the 7th of December 2016
You can see premium as a price to access the site. Part of it funds your main league prize-pools and the small number of prized premium tournaments. All other "prize pools" are funded out of specific entry fees for those. CyberGamer costs a ton of money to run and some of your premium fee is for that, it should really be a far higher amount of premium that goes into our running costs.

Didn't you 7 day ban people for doing the EXACT same thing you just did last week?

If it was me i'd probably just kill off your IW monthly final and give you each two weekly ones a week. Either way the vast majority of your premium fees go to your league prizepools, and they are calculated based on how many entries you get.

Would it be possible to get figures when these calculations come out?

PS Premium Changes

You aren't paying premium to play just footy. You are paying it to access the site.

I can't reply to you. You know that was made 300 years ago, move with the times. Surely you aren't that immature.

Quote from Jiszmik on the 7th of December 2016
Move with the times is such a poor attitude for an administrator. Completely turning your back on what made CyberGamer the site that people enjoyed playing on.

Surely you aren't that immature to miss that.

That's the most greedy post I've read here since.... ever.

PS Premium Changes

Premium to play is still a bit of a sketchy point considering its price, however I completely understand that the website has significant operating costs.

What people want to see is the breakdown of where the money is going.

Logically, all Pay-to-Play fees should be cycled back into the prize pool, but as for Premium costs, it should be divided in a fair sum between operation costs and the league prize pool itself.

The issue there is how do you divide how much of the premium goes into it?

I like to assume that the PS admins have already planned their schedule as to how long the league will be running. Lets assume it's a 2 month league.

Team A has 5 players who have bought 3 month premium ($29.85). It is highly likely that they are buying it purely for the intent of playing in that specific league. Therefore, you can set aside 1 months worth of premium money per player for operation costs, and the other to league prizes. So from the 3 months, X goes to operating costs, Y goes to the prize pool, and Z is there for whatever. The latter is what is the concerning part as a large portion of the money is just missing.

I recognise that this is a little shaky considering that these players would have access to other leagues, however I'm confident that the players who are playing in these leagues are playing it exclusively.

In addition to this, consider the fees as a player. Not only have people had to buy the game, PS subscription, and player fees, you're slapping a cost that is far higher than any of those to gate leagues that were open and made this site great many years ago.

Personally I feel that you are losing a lot of favour with the community in doing this. The "if you don't like it, go somewhere else" attitude is very abrasive toward player retention, and I wouldn't be surprised if players start dwindling.

The solution I'd propose is simply drop the premium requirement, but increase the fees and show transparency of where the money from the fees are going. Napkin math: 80% of fees go to the league, 20% goes to operating costs. Any reasonable player would be okay with that.

[MWR] Tournament and Circuit Announement

I would make a constructive post about what's wrong with this system, but there's no point if you can't already see the issue.

All it would lead to would be another 7 day ban because people can't take a mild joke.

COD4 Ruleset v1.3 Update

COD4 Ruleset v1.4 Update #intel

We have decided that there is too much long range combat so we have limited snipers to 0 per team and all assault rifles except for MP44s have been banned.

Dead silence has also been unbanned so SMG players can get closer without being heard.

Looking forward to your feedback!
